Dr Sreeraj Gopi, Founder and Managing Director of Atomin Innovations and Molecules Biolabs, and Chief Executive Officer of Akore Formulations, has been recognised among the world’s top 2 per cent of scientists for the sixth time.
A scientist and entrepreneur, Dr Gopi holds multiple PhDs from Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, and Deakin University, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), London, and combines academic research with industrial expertise in liposomal drug delivery, advanced formulations and natural product technologies. He also serves as a visiting professor and as a government-nominated director of Kerala Life Sciences Park.
Dr Gopi founded Molecules Biolabs without external financial backing and built the company into an international business exporting products to more than 50 countries, supported by a team of around 100 employees. The company focuses on liposomal formulations and natural product technologies.
Building on this experience, he established Akore Formulations to develop niosomal applications for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. His entrepreneurial activities also extend to Atomin Innovations, which focuses on research, innovation and manufacturing, including the development of advanced ingredient delivery technologies.
Alongside his industry leadership, Dr Gopi advises companies and serves in academia, helping bridge scientific research and commercial applications. His work spans formulation development, technology innovation and the translation of scientific knowledge into industrial solutions.
The Stanford–Elsevier global ranking of the top 2 per cent of scientists uses standardised citation-based indicators to assess research impact across disciplines. Dr Gopi’s reported sixth inclusion highlights his continued recognition in the scientific community.
Beyond research and entrepreneurship, Dr Gopi advocates collaboration, mentorship and knowledge-sharing to support scientific talent and innovation. His work across academia and industry reflects the growing role of scientist-entrepreneurs in advancing formulation technologies and strengthening the connection between research and commercial development.
